Lucy’s doing absolutely fantastic. She is now about 10 months, 28 lbs, and the vet says she’s nearly hit her full-size. This Christmas, we visited my family in Maine, and Lucy saw substantial snow for the first time and, wow, she loved it so much! One of her favorite past-times is zooming around and face planting into snow at full speed. She adores it, and doesn’t even mind wearing her sweater, jacket, and booties! Lucy and I are working with a private trainer and getting ready for her to take the Canine Good Citizen test. She’s learned so much – sit, down, stay, leave it, drop it, off, come here, touch, roll over, stand – and she’s a genius because she learns new commands in hours, if not within the first 5 minutes. Her trainer says she loves having a job to do, learning lots of fun commands and tasks. After she passes the CGC we plan to enroll in therapy training classes so we can go to nursing homes and work with children. Lucy continues to be the best thing that’s ever happened to us.
